The chapel on the Nikolaevsky bridge (during the Soviet era, Leutenant Schmidt's bridge) across the Neva, next to which Raskolnikov would pause on his way to the University or whilst returning to the Carpenter lane. From the bridge one can take in one of the most spectacular views of the city.
