The corner of Liteiniy prospect and Basseinaya street ( since 1918, Nekrasova street): Kraevsky's house in which Nikolay A. Nekrasov lived and where the Contemporary (Sovremennik) journal was published. In 1874 Dostoevsky, in spite of the differences in their political views, resumed his relationships with the poet Nekrasov, a friend of his youth, the man who was the first to appreciate his talent. Dostoevsky published his new novel Raw Youth (1875) in Nekrasov's journal Notes of the Fatherland. In 1877 Dostoevsky frequently visited the lethally ill Nekrasov in Kraevsky's house. On the 30th of December he attended Nekrasov's funeral.
